Yay PDAnet for iPhone
I’m in the Atlanta airport, frustrated that they want me to pay $7.95 to access the internet. Then I remembered an iPhone app for a jailbroken phone called PDAnet. I quickly launched Cydia, searched, found and downloaded it.
In less than 2 minutes, I’m on the internet with my laptop, using my iPhone’s 3G wireless connection! It’s very fast, and I’m so impressed that I’ve “beat the system!”
Essentially what you do is create a wireless network with you Macbook (under the airport icon), then go to your iPhone and under Network, the one you’ve created on your Mac will show up - in my case “Quackup’s Macbook.” Then go to PDAnet and launch it. It will show that you’re now connected!
I launched Safari and am able to browse effortlessly. On some pages, I can’t tell the difference between 3G speeds and WIFI! Go PDAnet!
